MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin lawmakers have proposed bipartisan legislation that would legalize online sports betting through the state's tribal casinos.

The proposed bill would use a 'Hub and Spoke' model with tribal casinos acting as the 'Hub' for online services. Wisconsin residents will still not be able to access popular online platforms like DraftKings and FanDuel.

"The state is missing out on tax revenue that can be used for important things like health care and schools," said State Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green), one of the bill's authors. "And the other thing is this certainly will help some of our tribes in Wisconsin."
