A woman and a dog were attacked by a coyote in Bergen County on Monday afternoon, officials said.

The attack occurred outside a home in Woodcliff Lake shortly before 1:20 p.m., ABC7 reported .

A 31-year-old housekeeper who was in the backyard with the family’s golden retriever suffered open wounds on her shoulder, arm, back and leg, and is now recovering, according to the outlet.

The coyote, which appeared to come from a wooded area in the backyard, bit the 6-year-old dog in the leg, NBC4 New York reported . The dog was not seriously injured, according to ABC7.

Surveillance video obtained by ABC7 shows a homeowner running outside within seconds to fight off the coyote.
