The inequalities in funding for Australian sport is seeing two Maitland boys rolling up their sleeves to raise almost $10,000 each to represent Australia in futsal.

While rugby league, rugby union and Australian rules remain the dominant sports on the TV screens and with sponsors, high participation sports such as soccer and futsal are having to ask their young stars to pay their own way.

Thirteen-year-olds Lucas Goodwin and Jaxon Adams are determined to raise the funds to take part in the 17-day Australian under-14 boys tour of the United Kingdom in April next year.

After starring for the all-conquering Northern NSW under-13s team which scored 103 goals and conceded just six on their way to winning the National School Futsal Championship under-13s title in Brisbane earlier this month,
