Prince George’s County Council on Tuesday confirmed multiple appointments for department heads made by County Executive Aisha Braveboy (D), including a controversial one for the county’s environmental department, which will be led by a former administrator who had been fired by the agency.

The board confirmed Samuel B. Moki’s appointment in an 8-2 vote after a hearing inside a crowded Wayne K. Curry Administration Building in Largo that drew about 45 people to testify for and against his nomination. Among them was Braveboy.
