The city of Renton has chosen a construction company for Phase 2 of the Legacy Square project.
At the Oct. 13 Renton City Council meeting, the council awarded Andersen Construction Company of Washington LLC with the contract for Legacy Square Phase 2. Andersen Construction submitted the lowest bid at $1.248 million, which was $256,367 below the engineer’s estimate. The project will be funded by a $1.498 million grant from the state Department of Commerce, which will be included in the Q3 2025 budget adjustment.
The Legacy Square will be a cultural hub in Renton’s downtown area. The park will be located on a currently vacant lot near the intersections of South Third Street and Logan Avenue, and will serve as a public viewing area for the 2026 World Cup matches, as well as a space for publ
