CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - An annual auction for a community-focused cause returns for its 60th year.
The Cape West Rotary Radio Auction is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 25.
People can listen live on the radio by tuning in to KZIM 960 AM or KSIM 1040 AM.
The auction opens online Thursday, Oct. 23. View items and make bids by going to event.gives/rotary25 .
Proceeds support community service projects.
John McGowan with Cape West Rotary said while people can still call in to bid over the phone, plenty has changed over the decades.
“It’s been an incredible evolution of what started off as a small radio auction with lots of telephones and just doing things over the air, and has now turned into a 21st-century online auction.”
That includes a livestream of the auction
