PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School dipped into the collegiate ranks to find the next leader of the Roughriders boys basketball program.

Kevin Ruble, previously an assistant with the NCAA Division I University of Portland women’s basketball program, has been selected to serve as head coach, the school announced Tuesday.

“I’m thrilled to have coach Ruble join our athletic program,” said Jarom Packer, assistant principal and athletic director at Port Angeles High School.

“The hiring committee unanimously agreed that he is the right person to lead our boys basketball program.
