WREX — The Trump administration has announced that student loan forgiveness will resume for certain income-driven repayment plans. This decision follows court orders that paused the forgiveness process.

Borrowers on specific income-driven repayment plans are now eligible for loan forgiveness. This applies to two particular plans—the original Income-Contingent Repayment plan and the Pay as You Earn plan—as long as these programs remain in effect. Jeremy Groves, an associate professor of economics and chair of the department at Northern Illinois University, explained that these plans allow for a graduated repayment program.
