Rhode Island SNAP benefits on brink of running out as government shutdown continues

If the federal government shutdown continues, 140,000 Rhode Islanders may not receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits on Nov. 1, and state leaders warn it may not be possible to entirely bridge the gap.
