CHIPPEWA COUNTY — An 18-year-old Dafter man was taken to the hospital in Sault Ste. Marie after a rollover accident on southbound I-75.
According to Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post, it happened around 3:45 Tuesday afternoon in Soo Township.
They say the driver went off the highway into the median and lost control of his car. Troopers say the car rolled over and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to MyMichigan Medical Center Sault with serious injuries. No word on his condition.
I-75 was partially closed in both directions while emergency workers investigated. All lanes are now back open.
Troopers are continuing to look into how the crash happened, but they say drugs and alcohol played no part in the accident.
