DYERSVILLE, Iowa (KCRG) - Students in Dyersville are getting a chance to learn more about potential careers in manufacturing.

In celebration of Manufacturing Month, the Dyersville Economic Development Corporation organized tours of manufacturing plants for students.

Some of the students who took part in the program said it helped them find job opportunities close to them.

The students also highlighted the importance of seeing real-world jobs.

“We’re in classrooms all the time but we don’t ever see it get put to real-life until we get out here. We can see what’s actually going on at jobs,” said Western Dubuque High School students Ben Wernimont and Etta Lukes. “I enjoy applying it to things and knowing it means more than just what we do in a classroom.”
