(KRON) -- Police said a convicted felon with a "violent history" was taken into custody last week following a probe of street drug sales in downtown San Jose.

San Jose police said a search warrant led to the recovery of "various illegal narcotics and one loaded unregistered firearm."

The total street value of the seized narcotics was not disclosed.

KRON4 reached out to police for more details on the suspect and their alleged history of violence but did not hear back in time for this report.
