MADISON (WKOW) -- Goodman Community Center opened registration early Tuesday for its Thanksgiving Basket program, which provides families with groceries for a traditional home-cooked meal. By 11 a.m., registration reached its 4,000-household capacity and closed.

"This is by far the fastest we've ever had registration fill," said Florence Edwards-Miller, Goodman's director of communications. "Last year, capacity filled after just over 24 hours. In 2023, registration was open for more than a week, and in earlier years, for multiple weeks. This year, we reached capacity in just 5 hours."
