KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas Jayhawks women’s basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 preseason poll, but they have bigger goals than that. KU finished last season 16-14; however, the Jayhawks expect to be a lot better this year with local talents leading the charge.

The Jayhawks have seven returning players and five newcomers, including five-star freshman and McDonald’s All-American, Jaliya Davis. Davis played high school basketball at Blue Valley North and said KU’s camaraderie will be its biggest strength.

“What makes this team special is how much we connect on and off the court,” Davis said. “We get out there, we hang out a lot, we go out to get dinner, we go out to chill in each other’s rooms, and that’s something not a lot of teams say they can do.”
