You cannot blame Manchester United fans for getting ahead of themselves with Senne Lammens.

The goalkeeper has looked extremely assured in his opening two matches for the club, and after more than two seasons of watching Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir commit costly errors, a young keeper bringing security and confidence to the backline deserves to be recognised.

In truth, Lammens enjoyed a much quieter afternoon than he would have been expecting at the home of the Premier League champions at Anfield on Sunday, with the woodwork forced into action almost as many times as the Belgian shot-stopper. But when he was called upon he didn't put a foot wrong.
