A beach on a Scottish island has been named the "top hidden coastal spot" in the UK. It beat out popular bays in England and Wales.
On Wednesday, October 8, BoatBooker shared a list of the most underrated coastal destinations across the nation. A total of 10 locations were singled out, including an impressive five in Scotland.
Placing first on the experts' list is Garry Beach on the Isle of Lewis. The beach is situated by the village of Tolsta in the north of the Outer Hebrides island.
Garry Beach, which is also known in Gaelic as Tràigh Ghearadha, is known for its picturesque sea stacks. It is also the starting point of the Tolsta Heritage Trail, which takes hikers along the dramatic northeast coast of Lewis.
