LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - It’s an issue that has many JCPS parents pushing back: a possible boundary change for middle school attendance.
JCPS staff have held two meetings this week to answer parents’ questions.
Echo Trail Middle School opened in 2023 to address a growing population in the metro’s east end. But, JCPS staff say there’s been more growth in the past couple of years than anticipated, and Echo Trail will be over capacity next school year if they don’t act.
“Operating at the capacity that they’re in is not safe for students, it’s not the best environment when it comes to learning,” said JCPS Chief of Schools Robert Moore.
