CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — After a fire destroyed the Applebee’s in Garden City in 2024, Flynn Group announced the restaurant will return to Cranston at a new location.

According to Flynn Group, the new restaurant will be located at Chapel View.

Construction for the Chapel View Applebee’s began in October of 2025, one year after the restaurant in Garden City was deemed a total loss after a fire.

“Serving the Cranston community for over 35 years has been an incredible honor for us, so the loss of our previous location due to the fire was truly heartbreaking,” Flynn Applebee ‘s New England South president Eleanor Clancy said. “We’ve deeply missed being part of this neighborhood and are genuinely excited to bring Applebee ’s back to the area.”
