Like a history teacher recapping a textbook chapter, Warren Mayor Lori Stone gave a panoramic view of Michigan’s third largest city in her annual state of the city address at the Warren Community Center Oct. 21.
The slide presentation began with a review of what workers in the mayor’s office have accomplished over the past year and ended with a rundown of what has transpired in the police and fire departments.
Much of Stone’s speech, which lasted over an hour, touched on familiar ground such as the addition of furniture to the City Hall atrium, her listening tours to garner feedback from residents and the Stephens Road retention basin that officially opened in February and was initiated by the previous James Fouts’ administration.
