Australian cricket legend Allan Border has given young Test opener Sam Konstas some stern and pointed advice, telling him to focus on the basics rather than eye-catching shots.

And Border also admitted his concern over Cam Green ahead of the first Ashes Test as he threw his support behind Beau Webster being Australia’s only all-rounder in Perth.

With less than a month to go until the first Test, Konstas’ hold on the opener spot looks increasingly shaky after up and down form over the past 20 months.
