MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Administration officials said a meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has been called off.

Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Washington seeking more military support. Before that, Trump had announced he and Putin planned to meet within two weeks in Hungary to discuss the war in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, the Kremlin downplayed the summit, saying no official date was ever set. A spokesperson for Putin said, "You can't postpone what was not scheduled."

Trump said he didn't want a wasted meeting.
