FARMINGTON HILLS – The Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks advanced to the D1 regional finals with a 3-1 win over the Okemos Wolves Tuesday night.

“I felt we came out pretty strong. We stuck to our game plan. Tonight, we needed to have a great organizational plan,” Catholic Central head coach Gene Pulice said. “Our captains, organized us well. We stayed our pace. They (Okemos) were making wholesale subs. I think they thought they could run us do like that. But I think our fitness level and our leadership out there kept things organized.”

Catholic Central struck first. The Shamrocks forced a turnover at midfield and quickly advanced the ball up the field with a pair of long switching balls. The last one found Grant Mooradian on the left side, and Mooradian ripped the ball past the goalkeep
