BOSTON — Brad Marchand looked like he was going to try to hold it together.

It didn’t last long.

When the TD Garden videoboard showed the tribute video to welcome the former Bruins ’ captain back to TD Garden, Marchand quickly got emotional and broke down in tears.

Marchand was on the bench when the video played at the first TV timeout. As the Boston fans, many who were wearing his No. 63 jersey, roared, his face got red and his eyes welled up as he watched a montage of many of the memorable moments of his 16-year Bruins career interspliced with him interacting with his family, the kids at area hospitals on Halloween, and Bruins fans.
