Brad Marchand couldn’t contain his emotions during the Bruins ’ tribute video to him on Tuesday night .

The Panthers forward patted his heart and waved to the TD Garden crowd as he received in his first game in Boston since getting traded to Florida in March.

Panthers coach Paul Maurice knew the moment was special to his star player.

“He just wears his heart on his sleeve,” he told ESPN’s Emily Kaplan . “He has so many great moments here. He won a Stanley Cup here. He’ll always be a Bruin at heart.”

Despite the emotions, Marchand had a solid game for the Panthers and helped lift them to a 4-3 win over Boston with two assists.
