BOSTON — In the midst of all the Brad Marchand love, Jeffrey Viel and Jonah Gadjovich reminded everyone at TD Garden that most of the Bruins and Panthers don’t like each other.
The two frequent fighters each dropped the gloves for the first time this season when they squared off with 6:48 left in the first period near the Panthers’ blue line in front of the penalty boxes each would soon be visiting.
Most of the bout was two experienced scrappers effectively preventing each other from connecting with anything significant. Gadjovich landed a couple shots early, while Viel got a couple of right hands on target late.
Viel earned the takedown before the linesmen stepped in.
