An Upstate New York man who was convicted and then pardoned for his actions in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, has been arrested and charged with making death threats to a member of Congress.
Christopher Moynihan, of the Dutchess County town of Clinton, is accused of threatening to kill Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-NY, the House minority leader, the New York Times reports . He has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.
“Hakeem Jeffries makes a speech in a few days in NYC I cannot allow this terrorist to live,” Moynihan texted to an associate last week, according to the criminal complaint. “Even if I am hated he must be eliminated. I will kill him for the future.”
