Chalk up win No. 1 for the Golden State Warriors as they trounced the Los Angeles Lakers, 119-109, at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday in their season opener.

It was a close affair between the division rivals, but the Warriors did enough in the fourth quarter to stave off the Lakers, who played without LeBron James due to a sciatica injury .

Golden State's star trio delivered. Jimmy Butler tallied 31 points, five rebounda, and four assists, while Stephen Curry chipped in 23 points, four assists, and three steals. Draymond Green had eight points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and two blocks.

Curry admitted that their offense got “stagnant” in the second quarter, but they regrouped at halftime and regained control of the contest.
