The Star’s team of basketball writers tackled some of the hot topics for the Raptors ahead of their season opener on Wednesday.

Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram. Are they bacon and eggs or peanut butter and pickles?

DOUG SMITH: Trying to solve any mystery about whether Barnes and Ingram can co-exist on the court lies squarely in Barnes’s lap.

If he plays to his offensive skills — punishing smaller defenders at the rim, making the right pass out of the inevitable double-teams, no lollygagging around the three-point range — any question about the duplication of talent disappears.

Ingram thrives in the mid-range; Barnes is a far better scorer in the paint than anywhere else on the court. They know it, the coaches know it, anyone who watches them closely should know it.
