EVANSVILLE — The estate of a man who died after spending 13 days in the Vanderburgh County jail following a 2023 arrest has filed suit against the sheriff's office and the jail's contracted healthcare provider in federal court.

The man, 61-year-old Bobby J. Norman of Boonville, Indiana, died Oct. 30, 2023, while in sheriff's office custody due to complications from cardiovascular disease, a forensic pathologist determined.
