A 13-year-old reported missing on Tuesday has been located safe, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The teen was last seen in the area of David C. Hinson Middle School on Clyde Morris Boulevard.

DBPD said she asked for permission to get water, but instead jumped the school fence and left without authorization.

DBPD said the teen didn't have a phone or money and believed she was being assisted.

"If you're hiding out this young lady, you will be facing criminal charges," Chief Jakari Young said.
