Rajouri/Jammu, Oct 22: A three-metre-long python was captured in a village in Rajouri district following an operation that lasted several hours, officials said on Wednesday.

Locals had alerted the wildlife department on Tuesday about the presence of a large python inside a cattle shed in Rajal village, Nowshera tehsil. A team rushed to the site and found the reptile snug inside a haystack. It took several hours for the team to safely extricate and capture the snake.

This marks the second such capture in Nowshera tehsil in recent weeks. On September 23, the wildlife department, assisted by police, captured a python weighing nearly 55 kg in Manpur village of Nowshera. (Agencies)
