BELOIT ‒ One thing is certain: West Branch Local Schools Board of Education will look different after the Nov. 4 election.

Three seats are vacant after incumbents either didn't submit campaign forms properly or withdrew from the race. Another seat also is up for election, because Deborah J. Helm, an interim board member, replaced Aaron Hawk, who resigned in May. She must win on Nov. 4 to retain the seat.

Helm faces Svetlana Herron for the unexpired term, which ends Dec. 31, 2027.

Tonya Dean, Penny Lynn DeShields, Angela Howell, Samuel Jennings and Peggy Shaver are candidates for the other three seats, in a separate race for four-year terms. All are first-time candidates for public office.

The current incumbents for those seats are David Yaggi, Bryan Hobbins and Joe Courtwright. Hobbins
