SWARTHMORE — The Park Avenue Community Center, 129 Park Ave., Swarthmore, will present “Family Live Arts Cultural Series: Celebrate Diwali.”
Everyone is welcome to the family celebration of Diwali, India’s joyful Festival of Lights on Friday, Oct. 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The interactive celebration will feature traditional dance, music, art and culinary tastes of India.
The excitement will kick off at 5:30, when children can create brightly decorated rangoli designs with artist Rinal Parikh.
Families will also learn about India’s fragrant spices, oils and herbs for cooking and healing with Ayurvedic practitioner Neha Jain of The Vedic Edge, while enjoying tasty bites of snacks such as samosas, naan bread and tastes of kheer, a creamy rice pudding, prepared by Shere-e-Punjab.
