Muivah is scheduled to address a public gathering in Ukhrul before proceeding 25 km west to Somdal for a week-long stay.

In a historic homecoming, 91-year-old NSCN-IM Chief Thuingaleng Muivah arrived in Manipur’s Ukhrul district today, marking his first visit to his native village of Somdal in five decades.

Muivah, accompanied by his wife Pakahao Muivah, flew in by helicopter from Dimapur and landed at Bakshi Ground in Hungpung, Ukhrul, where he received a grand welcome. Thousands of people gathered to greet him with cheers and a standing ovation as the veteran Naga leader waved warmly at the crowd.
