A Charleston woman charged with driving under the influence causing death has died.

According to a criminal complaint, she was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Aug. 30, 2023, at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue South and Washington Street West.

Gavin Vest, 20, was in the back seat of the Toyota Corolla that Bailey was driving. He died as a result of injuries from the crash, according to the complaint.

Bailey’s trial was set to start Monday. Kanawha County Circuit Judge Ken Ballard ordered that the case be dismissed.
