It has been 30 years since Mark Gardiner won £11million on the National Lottery – one of the biggest ever lotto windfalls in this country at the time.

The year was 1995 and the total prize was £22,590,829 which Mark split with business partner Paul Maddison.

Mark, a glazier from East Sussex, went on a lavish spending spree after the win, buying a football club in Hastings and a holiday home in Barbados.

However, he later said he would do things differently, and he still plays the lotto using the same magic numbers as before in the hope of striking gold once again.
