The case of a Philadelphia man accused of stealing cooking oil from local restaurants resolved quickly with a plea to new summary offenses at district court.

Joshua Ramirez, 33, of the 4700 block of Leiper Street, was charged Oct. 2 with theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime and conspiracy, all first-degree misdemeanors, following an investigation by Upper Darby police.

According to an affidavit of probable cause for his arrest filed by township detective Gerald Pucci:
