COLUMBIA, S.C. — An extended period of dry weather is expected to continue across the Midlands through the end of the week, with temperatures running near to slightly below normal for late October. Sunshine will dominate much of the forecast, and the next meaningful chance of rain likely will not arrive until late in the weekend or early next week.
