Metra reported BNSF trains are operating with major delays Wednesday morning due to a vehicle striking a bridge.

Officials said inbound and outbound trains on the BNSF line will be operating at restricted speeds with extensive delays due to an earlier accident where a vehicle struck a bridge.

Metra commuters are asked to check the Metra website for information on schedules before heading out.
