Democrat Abigail Spanberger maintains the lead over her Republican opponent Winsome Earle-Sears in the Virginia Governor race, polls show.
Newsweek's tracker, based on the ten most recent polls, shows Spanberger with an eight point lead over Earle-Sears, on 51 percent to 43 percent.
It comes as most polls show Spanberger hovering around the 50 percent mark — a critical threshold that indicates she could win a majority in a closely divided state. But not all polls have given Spanberger such a wide lead.
