Harry Wenban has been hunting for a job since January. Of the 16 positions he applied for in the first half of the year, the Toronto-based social worker received rejection e-mails for three, was invited to interview for two and heard nothing from the rest.

His interview experiences weren’t great, either. Mr. Wenban says he felt “grilled” by panels at both organizations, didn’t learn he was out of the running in the timelines promised and received no feedback from one organization after asking the company.
