The New York Mets are already searching for ways to improve their roster ahead of next season by eyeing up free agents.
However, the Mets had one of the highest payrolls this year. While that is expected to repeat next year, the team will save some money by moving on from current players.
Danny Abriano of SNY believes two veterans -- Tyler Megill and Nick Madrigal -- could be on the chopping block as non-tender candidates that could save the organization almost $5 million.
"(Tylor) Megill is in his second-to-last year of arbitration and underwent Tommy John surgery in September," wrote Abriano. "So he could be a non-tender candidate.
