The man wanted by police in connection to the fatal daylight shooting at a Brampton plaza and alleged abduction of his one-year-old daughter is dead after a police-involved shooting in Niagara Falls, police said.
Officers were searching for 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper in what police were calling a case of intimate partner violence, police said in a Wednesday news release .
Peel police were called to a shopping plaza near Airport Road and Queen Street East in Brampton just before 2 p.m. Tuesday where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
Though paramedics attempted to treat the woman’s injuries, she died at the scene. Her age and identity have not been released.
Three hours later, Peel police issued an Amber Alert for a missing one-year-old child, naming the father,
