SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office has taken a man in custody who officials said was involved in a fatal crash in Hymera that killed 68-year-old Decker House.
The accident happened near the intersection of Jackson and Oak Street in Hymera on Saturday, August 2.
The sheriff’s office said the crash led to House being entrapped in his vehicle before rescue personnel were able to extricate him from the vehicle and get him loaded into an ambulance. House was then transported to a local hospital and later passed away.
According to the sheriff's office, on October 15, Daylan Near, of Jasonville, was arrested on a warrant from Sullivan Superior Court.
Near has been charged with reckless homicide and criminal recklessness.
