The Carolina Panthers have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon , according to the NFL transaction wire. Moon joins the team’s practice squad in an effort to get his NFL career back on track.

The Steelers re-signed Moon this offseason after claiming him off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens last year. Moon went down during the first team period, was carted off to the locker room, and did not return.

A preseason ankle injury last season cost Moon nearly a month of time in the preseason and then the first four weeks of the regular season, but he returned to be a depth player and special teamer for the final 13 games.

Moon would start one game and posted just nine tackles throughout the season. As a pass rusher, he had four pressures in his opportunities
