The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the eighth time in nine days, decreasing 1.3 cents to $4.653.

The average price has dropped 6.3 cents over the past nine days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 5.1 cents less than one week ago and 8.8 cents lower than one month ago but 8.2 cents more than one year ago. It has decreased $1.84 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
