Dr. Jennifer Avegno, the director of New Orleans Health Department tells us Medicare is the largest insurance provider for older residents. Many of them rely on it for life-saving care.
Avegno warned that delays could be coming.
"For there to be any disruptions in payments...That will definitely translate into delays in care. Our elderly residents... They depend on it. From doctors visits to paying for prescriptions.. To hospitalizations."
Some physicians are already seeing issues locally. Dr. Courtney Washington, a family physician in New Orleans said, "Some patients that are havin
