In an emotional homecoming after five decades, 93-year-old Naga leader and NSCN-IM supremo Thuingaleng Muivah returned to his native village Somdal in Manipur on Wednesday.

Muivah reaffirmed that the Naga national flag and constitution remain non-negotiable in the ongoing peace talks with the Government of India (GoI).

The veteran leader, who first arrived at Ukhrul headquarters before proceeding to Somdal, was given a rousing welcome by thousands of residents. He was received at Bakshi Ground, followed by a massive procession to TNL Ground, where locals dressed in traditional attire lined the streets to greet him. The town came to a standstill as shops and businesses remained closed for the occasion.
