Manipur’s Naga-inhabited Ukhrul and Senapati districts are abuzz with anticipation as preparations reach their final stages for the homecoming of NSCN-IM General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah — his first visit to his birthplace in five decades.
The 90-year-old Naga leader, who also serves as the Ato Kilonser (Prime Minister) of the Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM), is set to return to Somdal village in Ukhrul district on Wednesday.
Muivah will arrive by helicopter from Nagaland’s Dimapur and will be received with traditional Tangkhul Naga rituals and celebrations.
