Dubai, Oct 22 (UNI) Afghanistan player Ismat Alam has been handed an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Harare on Tuesday.

Ismat was found to have breached Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “throwing a ball at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an international match.”

In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to Ismat’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.

The incident occurred in the 90th over of Zimbabwe’s first innings, when Ismat fielded the ball

on his follow through and threw it close to batter Tafadzwa Tsiga in a dangerous manner.
